   Like many others on this humble thread, I believe it is impossible
for the common street motor to over power the brakes.  I had a '68
Camaro with the 327 4 bbl motor in it.  Back in those days, the throttle
linkage was bell & crank, as opposed to cable. One day when a motor
mount broke, the engine torque jammed the throttle pretty close to wide
open, and I was flying low pretty quickly.  The first reaction was to
hit the brakes, then the ignition key followed pretty close behind. With
the motor pulling strong, those old DRUM brakes hauled that car down
from about 70 to 20 pretty quickly, then I cut the ignition and that was
that.  Yes Scott, I'm guilty of brake starts with that car, which may be
why the motor mount broke in the first place.
