I keeping seeing 7 deg C (45 deg F) as the crossover point between the
summer and winter rubber formulations. Above that temperature, summer
tires are stickier; below that winter tires supposedly reign, even on
bare asphalt.  This is from reading secondary sources. I assume some
of you guys have already conducted extensive tests.  If not, you
should!
