The question seems to imply that this kit helps to reduce mis-shifts,
correct?

Not to restate the obvious but, the bulletin addresses trouble
disengaging 3rd gear when shifting into 4th, that's it.  It's not a
magical cure for mis-shifts (overrev) on the M3.
