Peter,
You didn't say what state your in. Here in N.C., my then 18 year
old son, got a speeding stick(written down to 75 in 65)a couple of years
ago. I made him go to court instead of sending in the fine, just to
teach him a lesson. One of his buddies father was a city policeman and
told him to plead guilty to 74 in a 65 (nine over the limit instead of
ten) & to ask for "Prayerful Judgement" from the judge. After the
ticketing patrolman testified that my son had behaved himself, the judge
granted it. $65 court cost, no fine & the record was sealed for 3 years.
If he got another ticket within 3 years, they both count against him.
Guess he taught me a lesson. I'm not sure what lesson I taught him. Good
luck.
By the way, he was driving a nice shinny black Supra & said he was
moving with traffic. (ya, I believe that)
