The Dealership Pains

Mike,

I have had some bad experiences with the dealerships in the bay area as
well. What I do to reduce my involvement with them, is to take my car to
Dinan for servicing and to the dealership for warranty work. I will keep a
list of warranty issues and take it to the dealership for repairs as required.

I also believe any situation you enter into with intolerance and a
better-than-thou attitude, will just generate resentment and foster a poor
working relationship. I am becoming, not by choice, a seasoned vet in
doing battle with the not-so-truthful members of the dealership staff. I
believe information is your best weapon. When they spew their BS, call
their bluff with information and make watch 'em squirm. Call BMWNA as well
and make a complaint, as long as it is legitimate and not just a
personality conflict, they may be of some help. A parallel avenue is up
the food chain one step at a time. Mention this list and BMWCCA
affiliation, they do not like bad press, especially if it is true.

Good luck,
