Audi does make an S4 quattro, but it's currently only a european model, but
I believe it's coming to the states soon. It's got a twin turbo and I
believe twin intercooled 30valve V6 with like 265 hp and 0-60 like 5.8
seconds or something. That would be the //M equivalant to the //M3, but
with four doors.. They also used to make an S2 which was like the coupe
quattro the U.S. got but used the same engine as the previous model S4 and
S6 that was a 20valve 5cylinder turbo with like 225 hp, competion to //M3
coupe, but not in the U.S. All of Audi's S models come with the quattro, so
they can accelerate like mad and with a strong grip on road. They also
make a S8 in europe which is just a hopped up A8. The A8Q is supposed to
be the best all around full size luxury sedan in it's class, light
(aluminum space frame) fast (300hp) and very safe(8 airbags and strong car)
imagine the S8. The one thing Audi is missing is a sporty coupe to
compete with the likes of the bmw 3 series coupes, and mercedes CLK. They
are coming out with a roadster to compete with the Z3, boxster and SLK
called the tt or something. They are also lacking power in the midsize
sedan, A6, how can it compete with Bmw 540 with 282 hp and mercedes E420
with like 280 hp as well, even the E320 has like 220horse and I believe
similar for the 528, there 200 hp A6 is just a car not to buy if you want a
sporty and powerful sedan. My 535i from '92 has more power than the A6,
but if you really like the styling it has, which many people do like the
new body style go for it, it's gonna be a great car, just a bit slow
compared to other cars in it's class. But I believe they are working on
V8 for the A6 models, but don't know when that would make it over to the
states. All in all, BMW does have competion from Audi, but not in all of
it's models and not untill audi starts bringing more engine options to
compete with those of BMW and mercedes. I guess this is just my update to
all on what I can remember about different models of cars...
