Duane's simple post on the digest stickers reflects the experience, insight
in all things BMW (including legal trademark considerations and how to
print stickers!), sense of (cutting) humor, and cameraderie that the bubbas
bring to this list.  Sure, they don't always act like prim and proper
Victorian ladies (burp!) and some of them do get a bit impatient when the
same old fool notions get raised over and over again.  They'll ruffle some
feathers every now and then.  But they contribute an awful lot of knowledge
and wisdom (even on old topics) and, more importantly, they do their
selfless best to spread the faith.  Bubba Chip took me under his wing when
I was livinng in Chicago and got me introduced to a great bunch of car
buffs that were not only great to hang out with, both on and off the track,
but who also taught me a lot about my car, what it could do, and how to do
my own repairs/upgrades.  Pizzafest, something I'd love to attend, is
another great example of their efforts to enhance what it means to own a
BMW.  

In the past year and a half that I've been lurking on the digest, the
bubbas (and other helpful/experienced members of the list) have posted tons
of informational and intructional messages.  They've saved me from making
expensive mistakes (from snake oil upgrades).  I've saved and categorized
many that relate to the E36.  I hope to be able to set up a webpage so I
can share them with the rest of the digest.  

Its been said that we can live without the bubbas.  Others (like Jerry Chyo
showed last month) will step up to the plate and help fill in the vacuum if
they should leave.  That is all certainly true.  YMMV, but, to me, the
digest is more enjoyable and useful with them around.
