Re: E36 M3 wacko fuel gauge



Here is a neat little trick I learned by reading the ftp archives.

If you have the more advanced OBC with four buttons on the bottom
1,10,100,1000   ....  you can press the 1 and 1000 down at the same time
and see in liters what the remaining fuel is in the tank.  It will
display in liters even if you are in the North America mode (miles,
gallons, etc..)  One strange note...you can't toggle out of that
display  by pushing the turn signal lever in to the steering column the
way you would normally toggle through all the views of the OBC.  You
must press the avg. mph button to get out of  that view and then you
will be back 
to normal.  I can't find this little tid-bit anywhere in my owners
manual, nor do I see any reference to it in the Bentley Manual.

My fuel gauge has always seemed to read a little low so I have been
using this a lot.
