<Misc> Kidney grills

Does BMW have a trademark on the kidney grills? I remember a few years back
(3-4) when Pontiac and BMW were duking it out over the kidney grills. That
particular year was the year Pontiac decided to start branding their cars
(where all cars would have similar features so anyone could instantly tell
it's a Pontiac). All Pontiac vehicles, save the Sunfire, have what Pontiac
also calls the kidney grills. I never did hear the outcome of the battle.
But, I'm sure they worked it out such that they each have trademarks on
their respective grills.
