ASCII stands for American Standard Code for Information Interchange.  In
English, it essentially means letters, numbers and characters of the
keyboard, not graphics and pictures (see my e30 below).  With respect to
the design of the Digest logo, it means using letters (e.g., o) and symbols
(e.g., =, _, [, ]) to "draw" a picture.
