Reply: 100 Octane "Race" fuel

Keith, 

If your car pings on the highest octane street pump gas you can buy
now, then the 100 octane fuel may be "worth it".  However, if you
haven't replaced your car's pistons with high compression pistons and
the car pings, I would think a more important question would be:  Why
does your car ping?  In other words, this would be indicative of a
problem that needs fixing.

If your car does not ping, the 100 octane gas would be a waste of
money.
