<e28> Sway bars different on 528e?

Was getting around to swap suspensions and Sway barz from a '88 535is 
to my '86 528e.......but noticed that they were the exact same width!?!?

This boggles my mind because I asked the same question and everone here
told me that they were different.

Ohh well, could it be that the previous owner did that already?
Whatever.
Also....what is a good selection between performance and economy for a
chip?
