E28 Injector cut off <throttle switch>
John
There is a little black box by the throttle which contains a
switch that trips when the throttle is in the closed position.
The purpose is for instant throttle response. The electronic
determination of the throttle position is faster than the
closing of the airflow meter valve which normally controls
the injector fuel flow. The engine instantly goes to idle fuel
flow when the switch is tripped. The problem is when this
switch is moved or some how pivots so that the idle function
is switched on too soon. These switches are not known to go
bad and I just adjusted mine by trial and error but mostly
error.
Someone will probably point out where I'm wrongabout this.
