Squeaky Clutch Pedal

I have had my 96 328i for one month now.  The clutch pedal squeaks
like crazy.  I have seen many postings on the Un-Official E36 page
about this problem.

I want to hear what some of you have done about it.

I am looking at machining one out of aluminum with a bronze pivot
point.  I think that should fix it since the noise is  amplified by
the nylon/plastic it is made out of now.  I just can't believe BMW
made it this way,  it seems so cheap.
