Depends.  I know from an M5 acquaintenance's experience with Metric Mechanic,
an M5 tranny rebuild is very expensive....his was $3,900!  You need to examine
the overall value of both cars to you in your decision.

My other piece of advice....don't downshift into 2nd gear at 40 mph!  I can't
ever remember doing this....though I treat my car "gently" anyway...no track
time, just spirited driving<g>.
