Not to the United States.  Only a 2.0 liter 320i from '77 to '79 and
a 1.8 liter 320i from '80-'83.  The latter had lambda control/O2
sensor/cat,
and a shorter rear gear + overdrive gearbox to compensate for the loss
of displacement.

A Canadian would have to answer for the market North of the Border.
