Engine Swapping

Hi all .... I am thinking of swapping my 95 318is, 4 cyl for a 328 6 cyl.
Can any one a) give me a brief idea on the time and money involved here. b)
if the transmission and the diff are compatible with the 6 cyl.   I am not
ready to do this right away but maybe in the next 3-4 months.
