E39 M5
Well they had an E39 M5 at M day and I wasn't the only one to take a lot
of pics. Unfortunately I won't be home til Monday night, but I am not
sure if I will be able to get the pics up then (Tuesday for sure).
The US car will be the same as the Euro car. The Euro car was
introduced to the press within the last couple weeks. It goes on sale
by the end of the year in Germany and in the 1st Quarter of 99 in the
rest of Europe. Cost is 140,000DM (US equiv is ???). It will go on
sale here in late 3rd quarter/early 4th quarter of 99. The weight will
be 1720 kg (which by my calculation is just under 3800 lbs). HP will be
400 (not sure the rpm) torque will be 395 (not sure the rpm). 0-100
will be 5.3 (I think that is what they said). Without a speed governor
it will do 300km/h (186 mph). It has the quad exhaust and no spare like
the M roadster and coupe (has the same mobility kit).
