E30 idle problems

Hey y'all,  any help would be appreciated:

I've got an idle problem (85 325e):
  o Starts out cold at slightly high idle
  o Idle increases to 1300 as engine warms up
  o Once warmed up completely, it begins surging/cycling between
     500 and 1300 RPM.

I've already changed:
  o Idle control module
  o Water temperature sensor
  o Fuel pressure regulator

I've already checked/verified:
  o Idle control valve
  o Water temperature switch
  o Throttle position switch
  o Air flow meter
  o All wiring to the ICM and ECU
  o Fuel lines
  o All vacuum and intake lines/hoses
  o Oxygen sensor
  o Engine speed and position sensors

Has anyone seen this before?  Bentley and Haynes troubleshooting
tips have been exhausted...
