Hey everyone,
after reading Carl's recent posts regarding Fiske fitments on E36 M3's, it got
me thinking.
As Carl had previously mentioned, everything else being equal, having
different size front and rear tires (225/45 F, 245/40 R) would result in more
understeer versus a one size fitment all around.
so, for a moment, let us ignore 3 facts
1) that you can cure (to a certain point) the understeering ills of the m3
through proper suspension modification (springs, camber plates, alignment,
etc)
2) the fact you can't rotate the tires
3) that what i'm about to suggest would be considered by most as a visually
ugly setup...LOL
now assuming everything else being equal has anyone tried running the
different tires sizes in the opposite configuration.
that is one of the following:
245/40 F, 225/45 R
245/40 F, 235/40 R
235/40 F, 225/45 R
It would be interesting to see if it would have a noticable effect on the
handling charactertistics of the car...both on a stock suspension or modified
suspension...precious tenths in an auto-x? will everyone soon be seeing guys
in stock M3's swapping their rims front to back when they get to the track?
the next best idea since the ERAM? (i couldn't resist)
a little guppy waiting to be either burned or eaten in these flaming, shark-
infested waters...lol
