Ultimate Driving Event

I hadn't read my BMW Digest in about a week and was happy to see that =
things are lively: blowers, differentials "of opinion," spelling, energy =
transfer, etc... We're starting to sound like a bunch of pilots again =
(BTW - thanks to all you veterans who've served your country).

Anyway, I took my wife to the Ultimate Drive and Driving School in =
Atlanta last week. I highly recommend it, especially for all you BMW =
newbies (Ph.D., et al). Here are some tips:
1 - Reserve at least two cars to drive; the one you want to drive most =
last (M Coupe). You're supposed to drive a predetermined course of =
about 13 miles and it takes one time through to learn the course (and =
another to learn the better routes). We drove everything in the lot.
2 - Take your wife; let her learn the very basics of performance driving =
on BMW's cars.
3 - Take your children. My three boys (3, 5 & 7) had a blast listening =
and watching during the driving school. When Cecilia and I drove the =
Coupe and Roadster, the staff volunteered to watch our kids (We still =
haven't gone back to pick them up; I hope they miss us).
4 - Enroll any teenagers you know in the Teen Driver program (4+ hours =
on Saturday or Sunday). It's a great new driver course, and it's free.
5 - If you can't get a reserved slot for the Driving School, just show =
up for one of the morning slots during the work week. They will make =
room for you since there are some no-shows.

As someone said earlier this week (Duane I think), a BMW is more than a =
car, it's a lifestyle. I'm sold on them.

Rejoice!
