<E30> Left Grill specs

Hello:

While deciding whether to fix (epoxy) a slightly cracked left side 
grill, I checked the part number in Bavarian Auto's catalog. The part 
with A/C is about $20 more than the part w/out (that is, if AC equiped 
car or not).

Although I cannot justify the cost (mine is AC) and have already glued 
the hard plastic carefully (the crack was very minor), I have become 
curious as to the difference between the two parts. 

I imagine it has to do with the airflow but can't really say I could 
spot an A/C equiped E30 by looking at the front grill alone.

Maybe someone can help. I bet it is something simple, i.e. larger vents 
or vented vs "faux" grill.
