e30 convertible rear strut bearings in e36

I'm told that when swapping rear shocks on a e36 that it's worth the
effort to go ahead & put in new strut bearings as well, and that the
ones from an e30 convertible are stronger and will fit. Can anyone
who's done this let met know if there's any modifications that have to
be done to the e30 bearing, and part numbers?
