Converting to SCCA GT2 Specs-No fuel injection

Assuming I still have my '87 E30 with M50 after next week, I'm
walking a bit further down the road to final GT-2 specs, I'm pondering the
move to carburation. Most likely three 48mm; 45mm venturi carbs will be
the SCCA
mandate. (E36 M3 specs are 45mm with 38mm venturis, 2280lb weight, 16 inch
rims? )
Seeing how this is like jumping back to early 70's tech, I feel comfortable
tuning
the carbs etc, but what interface will the computer still need (timing,
possible rev
limiter, etc).
Since there is no fuel injection, the O2 sensor would seem to be history
unless used as a kentucky windage on rich or lean. Comments?
Anybody here been down this road and care to comment on the conversion to
carbs,
and general GT2 conversions.
Thanks,
Grant
