<E34>Engine Whine

Hi all,

On mornings which are more cold than usual, I find a high pitched whine
coming from the engine compartment it is gone in about two minutes of a 1k
idle.  From reading earlier posts and detective work, I think it is my water
pump.  I have a 1991 M50 E34 with 96K, if I get a used part with a metallic
impeller, post 1992 e34?, will this solve the issue.  Or should I buy a new
one which will have a metallic impeller?
