Blue Smoke

A while back my '95 328i burst a water pipe. The pipe had come loose
from its mounting clip and the radiator fan wore a hole through it. I
was traveling at about 150 km/h at the time. I pulled off the road just
as the engine cut out. Anyway, ever since having this fixed, the car is
using about 2 litres of oil between services and emits blue gray smoke
under acceleration or when coasting to a stop after coming off the
freeway. Any ideas as to the cause? Could the overheating have damaged
the valve stem seals? I will bring this point up with the dealer at my
next service, but I'd appreciate any feedback.
