e36 surging

Dear Beemers,
I have a problem with my 92 325i.  After driving at normal speed and 
braking to a stop I am experience a surge right after my full stop.  
It's like it has a little juice left and surges just for a second and 
then idles regularly.  I'm not sure what could be the problem, is it the 
ignition, the fuel, or some sensor that could be causing this?  Your 
reply would be greatly appreciated.
