A friend of the family is a Commander at a local HighwayPatrol
station...I had the oppotunity to do a ride along with him a few months
back.. I asked him about the use of radar on freeways/interstaates...He
said that the CHP is using radar on interstates..not all of them, only a
select few...(didn't reveil that). However, the use of radar on
interstates is a TEST...They are doing the following......Obtain radar
speed, bumper clock vehicle or use plane to determine true speed...write
down all data and keep it...turn it in later...They are doing this to
"prove" that radar can be accurate and effective on
interstates...So....they cannot stop you for using just radar to clock
you (supposedly!), they still have to clock you by the book. Although we
know (me from experience) that there are some CHP who will pull you over
becuuse they KNOW you are speeding, not because they clocked
you...SO....be on the lookout. I think the TEST is over at years end,
then expect it in use next year sometime...Thank God for the
Valentine1!!! Mine should arive Tuesday!
