Re: Dinan Badging

Well,
I take a different tact on this and I have Dinan badging on my '88
535iS(Bias).

This is the same as having Hartge, Alpina or AMG badging. Granted Dinan has a
point system so the cars that have them aren't completely rebuilt by them, but to
get 10 pts. means you did put a large amount of Dinan equipment(big bucks $$$$) on
the car in question. And yes, turbo or supercharging allows the badging outright.

I personally like the exclusivity of the badge system in the same vain as when
I see cars with the above tunners markings, you know what the car is about and the
driver wanted( and paid for) the best equipment he could get for it. Does this
make me somthing other than I really am, NO, does it make me look like a "snob" or
the "My cars better than your car", well thats your opinion and thats
outstanding, your entitled. But, I made an investment in my BMW that conforms to
a Dinan standard. I personally like the Dinan standard and I'm sure others do
to. Is this advertising for Dinan, sure, no more than I'm advertising for BMW
with all their badging prominently displayed all over the car. Gee Scott, you own
a BMW, isn't this the same. I think just owing a BMW makes me a yuppie snob right
out of the gate ;-) , I guess Dinan badging can't make it any worse!!!

Oh gee, I better run home and check that badge, it may end up on a 2002 in Brazil
and the Dinan badge police will come for me ;-)

Take Care,
Russ
