Brake Upgrade

Someone on the digest recently mentioned that an E34 could be upgraded to
E32 brakes. What exactly would this job entail? Is it rotors, pads and
calipers or just rotors and pads?

Lance...I mentioned it recently as I did it on my 89 535i earlier this
year. Truly a bolt on operation. I sell the kit for $750.00 which
includes new calipers and carriers, larger rotors and pads (Pagid), brake
sensor, allen screws for the rotors, retainer springs for the brake pads,
new guide bolts holding the caliper to the carrier, and new brake hoses and
union clips. Also included in the kit is a can of Wurth brake clean, SK
flare wrenches (11x13 and 12x14) for the brake lines & SK allen socket
(5mm) for the allen screws on the rotors....even a set of rubber gloves to
keep your hands clean.
The rear vented brake kit is an additional $750.00 (if purchased with the
front) and includes all of the new parts as the front (without a duplicated
set of tools) and helps balance things out.

This setup is the best you can get for use with the stock 15" wheels.
You can also try Zionsville for used components but I would recommend
rebuilding the calipers and installing new guide bushing kits and still
buying new pads and rotors. Overall, you'll probably save $100-150 buying
the calipers and hardware used and not changing the brake hoses. SD
