525it Roof Racks

Does anyone know if a generic key will fit the
lock on a roof rack for my touring?? The rack
I just bought used didn't come with a key and
the dealer said it would take a week to get a
spare???? Sounds odd to me! It is a factory
rack off a totalled car.
Any help is appreciated.
