1995-98 740i Seat Memory Problems?

Has anyone had a problem with their 1995-98 7-series seat/steering wheel
memory?  Although the car is fairly new the steering wheel (which for 98
swings up out of the way when you remove the key) doesn't always return to
the driver-preset position when starting the car.  Another problem is now,
at different times you are unable to adjust the steering wheel or seat while
driving.  Then it will magically fix itself or after the car has sat for
awhile.  If anyone has experienced this and the dealer provided a solution
please post to the list.  Thanks.
