E30 fog lights questions

I've asked a few of you this before, but I wanted to know if anyone had the
exact procedure to wire up my 88 E30 325 so that I can turn on the fog
lights without put on the headlights?  Is it really hard?  Can I do it
myself or do I need a mechanic?

believe it or not, I was in pea-soup thick fog, and even my low beams were
blinding me since then the fog reflected everything, I really wanted to keep
my fog lights on w/o my headlights.  

This seems to be possible in the E36's right?
