Greetings:
Saw an M coupe on the freeway this AM. Styling looks real good in a deep
forest green-do not know the actual color name- but the green is
definately doable. Now , here is the kicker. The car had dealer plates
and was headed inbound on the 91 fwy in Anaheim. So i knew the guy
behind the wheel was a dealer employee. He was young and preppie
looking.
The problem was that even though we motored along is tandem for over
three miles, and I was driving a pristine and striking fully restored 73
tii 02 the guy never noticed or acknowledged I was there, even as i did
the usual left side ,right side ,front/back manuever in order to catch
the coupe from all sides. I was just another small ,old compact car. A
classic example of a salesman probably completely unaware of the
heritage of the marque. In all due fairness, he may have been younger
than my car, I did not focus on him as much as the car, but just the
previous day in Hollywood a silver e36 m3 pilot drew up next to me and
gave a big smile, and thumbs up. He was older but he also owned his car,
he was not selling them. Maybe Bmw NA should give all new employees an
orientation on the history and heritage in order to better understand
their clients.
