Balancing an engine refers to a procedure where the rotating bits and
pieces of an engine (crankshaft, connecting rod, and piston assemblies)
are balanced. Involves matching the weights of all the piston assy. and
rods, then dynamically balancing the crank for that weight. The counter
weights of the crank are drilled or weighted to accomplish this.
Blueprinting refers to a set of procedures that bring the tolerances
within an engine to a given specification (usually - but not always -
"factory specs").
