I get the same thing in my M3.  Mine happens to be on the return travel.  =
VERY ANNOYING!!!!

Unfortunately, you can't access all the pivots, joints, and/or hinges that =
the cluch uses.

A liberal spray of WD40 only lasted a few days.

I recall someone saying the dealer fixed this problem by dropping the =
transmission, pulling out virtually everything underneath the dash to =
replace the pivot joints of the clutch pedal assembly.
