Hi all,
I tested my car (93' 325i with 95' M3 engine ) after installing the
Euro HFM / Air Box / JC chip (T506-301) purchased from Turner .
To my surprise, there was almost no gain in Max HP and Torque:
Stock HP: 205.4@ 6050rpm (Best run) - 4th gear,
Stock Torque: 199.1@4250rpm
*at the rear wheels
W/ Euro HFM kit HP: 206.5@5950rpm - 4th gear
Torque: 199.1@4300rpm
*at the rear wheels
- -- both were with stock M3 exhaust and K&N panel filter,
new Oxygen sensor, plugs and fuel filter
- -- Tested at Maximum Performance in Miami.
Both configurations were tested on the same day, actually,
we tested the Euro HFM Kit first - cooler engine should make more HP
even without any mods.
The dyno graph for the Euro Hfm looks smoother than stock,
the power 'dip' at 5300rpm is almost gone and there are occasional
gains (aprox 3-4 HP) between 5100 - 5500rpm and 5500- 6000.
(at 5500rpm and 6050rpm both make the same HP).
On the road the car feels much smoother - especially
above 4000rpm. Below 3000rpm the stock setup feels
stronger - this was confirmed by a 1/2 mile race simulation
(based on the dyno tests) that we run : the stock setup
had one car lead up to about 1/4 mile and then the
Euro HFM setup took a slight lead to the 1/2 mile finish line .
To say the least, I was very disappointed !
I called Will Turner and faxed him the dyno results, he
told me that he passed the information to Jim Conforti
but received no reply, this was a month ago.
I would like to hear from others who installed the kit and run
a Dyno test (Duane do you hear me ...).
Igor
