Kendrick,
There sure is! Park the car on a hot day with a sunshield pushing against
the mirror. The glue will soften and it will pop right off. Problem
solved!
Seriously, the BMW mirror is unlike most domestic mirrors, which have a
'button' that is glued to the windshield, and then the mirror mount slides
into the button. On the BMW mirror, the mirror base itself is glued
directly to the windshield. A real PITA when trying to reglue, as you have
to hold the entire mirror against the windshield. (which explains why my
rearview mirror currently resides in the trunk.)
To remove it, you might try heating up the mount with a heat gun or maybe a
big hairdryer. Or maybe scraping with a razor blade.
Good luck.

Is there a way to remove the interior rear mirror? I am wondering whether
the mirror arm is detachable from the circular base plate that is glued to
the windshield.
