I installed 4 Bilstein strut/shocks last year on my 93 E36 in about 6
hrs. I'm not a pro mechanic and it was my first time doing it on this
car, so I would say the 6 hrs is probably too high. By the way, you do
not have to remove the trunk lining and speakers to do the rears, at
least on my car. YMMV, but I was able to do them by just dropping the
rear seats(I have fold-down seats, does that make a difference?), and
taking out the side cushions. A little tight to get at the top mounting
for the shock. but not impossible, and a big time saver. I figure I could
do them in about 3-4 hrs if I did them a second time(no rolling rocks
though!!)
