Stinky Exhaust

I had the rotten egg smell from my exhaust (95 M3) some time ago. I
querried the digest and found this out....Either:
1) bad cat converter or
2)used a fuel with high sulfur content...(most likely)
I switched fuel brabds and WALLA! no more stinky stink stink... I
suggest you try to fill up next time with another brand of fuel...I hear
Mobil is fairly clean (from another post a while back). I use Chevron
Supreme or Unocal Supreme....and no more smells!
However, if the car is run really hard for a while, I can get a littel
smell due to a very hot cat converter...If that puppy gets too hot, you
can start to melt your insulation under your carpet and get a REALLY
nasty toxic smell that burns the eyes and lungs! FUN! But don't worry
about that...that happened in a 89 Jeep Cherokee that had two plugs
shot..running rich and heating up the old cat to atomic levels while
climbing the Grapevine... (southern CA mountain pass).
Switch fuels first, then the cat if that doesn't work.
