Some people are just lucky, perhaps the car burns so much oil it's "self
changing" like a truly big engine, not a caterpillar which is a great "small
"locomotive size engine, truly big is 3300 HP per cylinder or more running day
in and day out at 15 psi boost.  That would be 72 to 96 cm bore, 65 to 95 RPM
max. 2 cycle.
I don't think the Co. this person works for or Cat. would go with this type of
maintance, is this sch. per the maintance manual? Don't answer because it is
not.
Changing oil is required if you want the engine to last as acids, grit , etc.,
build up in the oil, additive wear out.
As far as timing belts go if it has run for 190K with the same belt someone is
very stupid and very lucky.
