John F. brings up:
It gets bigger new-car discounts, a
multi-year warranty that Europeans still dream and free oil changes
and inspections the first few years.

Thanks for reminding about this because this really puzzles me. Why can't
military personnel and US government civilian employees stationed oversees
receive this benefit? If we buy a new US spec BMW oversees, we only receive
a 1 year warranty...and we still pay for all inspections. When I bought my
car in 1995, I was stationed in England and opted to purchase the 2 year
extended warranty BMWGB was offering. I think England is the only European
country that offers any kind of extended warranty...and now I don't think US
personnel stationed there are authorized to purchase it. I can't see why
BMWNA can't honor this for people working outside the US...if you purchase a
US spec BMW like 99.9% of us do. Even if I had to pay the bill, send it to
BMWNA, and get the money back from them, that would be better than nothing.
Phil Marx or anyone else...could you shed some light on this?
