You might want to check the car's supension status by taking it for a test
drive over both smooth and rough roads at variable speeds. It might turn up a
rumble or worse which would be beneficial in negotiations and not always easy
to eliminate.

There also might be evidence in the service records not necessarily about what
has been done, but by omission, what is GOING to fail in the near future:
water pump, clutch (more mechanical and attentive list members would have more
to add to this list). Again, you can use this for negtotiations or a way of
expecting what's going to happen next.

I'm not aware of the regional blue book suggested price in your area, but the
the price of $14.5 k seems a bit high for that kind of mileage, even for a
pristine vehicle.

I've had my 535i (114k miles) for 5 years, and it has had a host of problems,
but overall is an excellent car.
