Other benefits of the rear brace mentioned were:
- - -    Reduces the annoying creaking of the split rear seats better than Lexol
or
     GummiPhlegm (almost worth it to me on that basis alone);

I've had a lot of success eliminating the creaks by separating the parts
where hard parts contact each other with felt pads, like the kinds used
under chairs to stop them from scratching the floor...
