This is a followup to my earlier post about a faulty repair to an A/C hose by
The Radiator Shop in Falls Church, VA. Thanks to a quick response from
Bubba Duane, I followed his advice and kept from blowing my stack at
these guys. My girlfriend took the car and hose to the shop.
Steve, the A/C hose specialist said "Looks like it broke." He took it in the
back and rewelded the hose to the fitting. He then offered excuses as to
why the hose might have separated from the fitting, and flatly refused to
recharge the system. So I called and offered him the chance to make it right,
and told him that I was going to take it elsewhere and send him the bill. He said
I didn't work on your car, I'm not responsible," and, get his, that he "had done me a
favor" by rebuilding the hose. Yeah, right. Some favor! So I saved
$75 on the hose and lost $135 on the R12 recharge, plus several hours
of aggravation and skinned knuckles removing the damn hose. If anyone
contemplates using this place of business, my advice is "CAVEAT EMPTOR".
