The PIZZA in PizzaFest2
Only one or two things left to do for PizzaFest 2. Namely eat some pizza.
Soooooooooo...instead of having it after Summit Point when everyone is
dirty/dogged and needs to beat it home to get to work on Tuesday, we'll
START PizzaFest with Pizza on Oct. 2nd, Friday night at 7:30 p.m!
This will be the kickoff event and the object will be to meet everyone, eat
pizza, and not get too hammered on Rolling Rocks (auto-x the next day won't
be pretty with a hangover, getting sick in a full face helmet WILL ruin
your day).
Those of you coming - here's where to meet up:
Generous George's Pizzeria in Alexandria, Virginia - right off Interstate 95.
They'll take the whole group of us (up to 150 +) of us for Friday night in
their downstairs party room. George's is located off exit # 4 on I-95
northbound going towards Maryland and the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Exit at
Telegraph Road NORTH for about 100 yds, bear left off the exit and then
cloverleaf around onto Duke Street. About 1/4 mile on the left is
Generous Georges. 3006 Duke Street (tel: 703-370-4303).
7:30 p.m. start time, Friday night - October 2nd. Parking can be tough
there, but you can park in the shopping center accross the street and
attempt to
successfully dodge the cars crossing Duke Street on foot. Everyone pays
their own tab.
There is also a Marriot Courtyard less than a mile away from George's (2700
Eisenhower Ave (703) 329-2323) and a Holiday Inn (2460 Eisenhower Ave (703)
960-3400). These are optional hotels to stay at as you've got a straight
10-12 minute hop into Maryland to the auto-x site the next day. You're
twenty minutes away from the go-kart track on Sunday though (not bad) and
an easy return from HOOTERS in Rockville. Getting to Summit could be
troublesome on Monday as
you're knee-deep in communter rush hour but if you leave by 6 a.m. Monday
morning you're golden.
