Pete -
The window switches are serviceable. Take them out, pry them apart, and
shine up the contacts with an emory board or fine sandpaper. They will
work great after that. Or, pop down to the parts desk and pay $35 per
switch. But I'm too cheap for that. Were the BMW engineers thinking on
the E28, "let's save money on the front suspension and brakes so we can
really invest in the window switches, that's where enthusiasts really
want performance."?

Hi:
I have an 88 535is. Recently, the sunroof will not open.
Additionally, the
passenger window is off/on as it goes up like the electrical
contact is
questionable. The sunroof has exibited these symptoms
previously, for short
periods of time, and then the sunroof works again. It has not
worked for
awhile now. Do you think the switch contacts may be corroded,
or the the
motor contacts are questionable, or any other possiblities?
Thanks for any experiences or thoughts.
