Chips for custom engines

Hello BMW Experts! After attempting to get a custom J.C. chip for my
hopped up
engine, I had to "settle" for an alternative supplier. It seems the
tuners in the
North East haven't bought Jim's software for the E30 325i.
So, I now have the Garrett chip! Garrett Lim is well known in
Porche
circles, and also on the 'ti' digest. He does a lot of chips for drag
racers, and
supposededly he beats the other chips more often than not.
It took about six hours to get a chip burnt that we were happy
with, going through about 25 chips. We then did a bunch of 1/4
miles, using a watch to get
times. From the feel (butt dino) and watch, we were probably breaking
the 14
second barrier. This is faster than a stock E36 M3, and I asked him
not to push the
timing to the limit! We then tried to get HP figures from a G-Tech to
compare the
new chip to my stock chip, but I think I was too inconsistant.
Please, no flames for not using 'our boy', but I bothered Jim
enough trying
to get a chip from him. Nothing wrong with a little competition,
anyway!
Now I want to drag!! Or at least get to a dino.
