<E34> Center Console Telephone Mount

I have a 92 525i. I am replacing the telephone with a factory unit
(CMT-310).  How do you remove the telephone that is mounted in the
center console? I have removed the only visible screw, but the black
metal insert seems fixed in place. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
