Strategic Vision's 1998 Total Quality Award winner in the luxury category is
not resting on its laurels. The 1999 model year brings the 7 series model
range a minor facelift, several equipment improvements and the introduction of
a new 740I sport package. A summary of the changes follows:

7 Series Overall Changes
* All 7 Series models will receive a minor facelift, which tastefully updates
the E38 sporting and prestigious styling. Changes include:
* Brilliant optics dual glass-covered headlamp design
* Clear lens rear tail light clusters
* Revised BMW kidney grill with chrome surround

* An infra-red reflecting windshield is added as standard. This feature helps
reduce high temperatures inside the vehicle resulting from sun glare.

* The trunk mounted 6-disc CD changer is added to premium audio option.

* New standard door mounted puddle lamps illuminate the ground when the door
is opened.

* Car & Key memory feature is added enabling additional personalized features.

* Revised color and trim choices

New 740I Sport package
The 740I takes its reputation for dynamic elegance a step further with the
introduction of a sport package. Available only on the normal wheelbase model,
the new sport package adds to the muscular grace of the 740I by offering an
even higher level of responsiveness. The package includes:
* 18" x 8" / 18" x 9.5" (front/rear) M-parallel spoke alloy wheels and
performance tires
* Performance axle ratio (3.15) and torque converter.
* Sport suspension
* Five-speed electronically controlled Steptronic transmission.
* Electrically adjustable contour sport seats - deeply contoured side
bolstering, additional backrest angle adjustment and adjustable thigh support.
* Shadowline exterior trim.
* Vavona redwood interior trim

750iL Changes
* Addition of Dual VANOS increases the output of the 750iL's 5.4L V-12 to
326hp.
* Five-speed electronically controlled Steptronic transmission is added as
standard.
* BMW On-Board Navigation System is added as standard.
* New 750iL wheel design complements 7 Series minor facelift.

740i/740iL Specific changes.
* Heated front seats are added to the optional cold weather package
* Break-Resistant Security Glass option is now available on the 740i.
* Park Distance Control is now available on the 740i.

We are confident that these changes for 1999 will enhance the 7 Series
competitiveness in the prestige luxury market segment. Despite increased
competition from the Lexus LS400 and the up coming re-designed Mercedes S-
class; the 7 Series is determined to retain its status as "The Most Loved Car
in America".
